1890 was a pivotal year in American history. Since America's founding, moving westward to the unsettled frontier was always an option to those seeking new destinies and new possibilities. The U.S. Census declared in 1890 that the frontier was no more, and no more land grants awaited those who made the difficult journey across the continent. Historians, most notably Frederick Jackson Turner, declared, "The frontier has gone, and with its going has closed the first period of American history." In the era that followed, entrepreneurs, innovators, and businessmen had to utilize the advances in technology and industry to create new frontiers. In just over a century, these advances have already taken us to the moon, to the digital age, and into the world we live today.

Our thesis is simple: Invest or acquire creative & courageous companies - including newly formed ventures to small/middle market businesses - that have a core product in the market and want to expand their frontier with new capabilities and customers. Our process starts and ends with people. We want to understand the daring founders who were the pioneers to the committed colleagues who joined along the way to turn something out of nothing.
Tanveer I. Kathawalla, Founder
Tanveer is an experienced venture-backed entrepreneur and investor. Previously, he was the COO/CFO and part of the founding team at Analytical Space, a venture-backed satellite company. During his tenure, Analytical Space was named to Fast&Co’s list of most innovative companies, launched the first commercial cube-satellite equipped with a laser, and raised funding from investors such as MIT’s The Engine and Flybridge Capital. Previously, Tanveer was on the full-time team at NextGen Venture Partners and is currently a venture partner with the firm. Additionally, he is a member of the Leadership Now Project, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and a former Aspen Ideas Scholar.
Dr. Renée Rinehart, Founding Partner
Renée is an organizational researcher and consultant, specializing in organizational change and leadership development. She earned her Ph.D. at Harvard University and is currently an Affiliate Faculty of Management at the George Mason University School of Business, co-founder of the REAL Leadership Program, and a Leadership Consultant at INSEAD.
